Ladybird Children’s Centre is now officially open, to families and children of Highworth and Blunsdon, we had our open day on the afternoon of Monday 21st September 2009.Lots of people came to help us celebrate, Neil Griffiths a former teacher at Westrop and obviously a very well known Children’s author opened the centre, he very kindly signed and donated some of his books to the library for the children to enjoy, so we would like to thank him very much for his time and generosity.
There were other official guests such as John Gilbert, (director of children’s services) and Garry Perkins (cabinet member for children’s services).The afternoon went really well, local children and families came along, enjoying the outside areas and creche to play in.
All staff at Ladybird are pleasantly surprised about the amount of people that are using the centre already and our new timetable (which starts properly in November) will only make things better.
Please drop in and have a look around if you haven’t done so already and don’t forget to keep a look out for the posters in and around Highworth advertising what is happening at your centre.
